Actually its a 3 part question.

First, I have used worldspawn to evenly light my map, but i want to add a movie theatre type room. So it needs to be near pitch black in this one room. How would i go about turning one room pitch black when ive used worldspawn to light up my whole map?

Second, I saw on someones custom map they had used red lights and green lights. Basically they got their lights to have a color instead of the standard light flash. How do you obtain this?

Third, Ok this one im not sure if it can be done. It was just an idea i had. Is it possible to have a texture flash different textures. Like a picture slideshow? I wanted to have a wall flash like maybe 3 pictures over and over.
:P  :P  :P  :P

I got the answers nananana

  1. Not possible. When you use ambientlight, it's applied to the entire map. You can use sunlight to only light the outside areas.
  2. You can change the color of a light by, I think, pressing 'k' on it. If that doesn't work, see the 'misc' menu and click 'select entity color'.
  3. Probably the easiest way to make a slideshow is by making script_objects that in turn appear or disappear. Just a bit of scripting and it will look fine.

Thanks dude n/t

hey dude next time you might wanna try the tutorial that surgeon worked very hard on lol. there a tutorial on lighting in there if your having any more trouble. its not very hard there are alot of different colors by using the value box and typing the hex # in. Like 000000 is usually black and FFFFFF is usually white. You probably got it done already though eh.
