Spearhead SDK

Post by FritzDaKat »

Hey Guy's, sure hope this is the right board to start this thread (1st post here and all :D )

Much thanks to you all for the tutorials, it seems I might be able to get my head around mappin in Radient after all,

Right now, my biggest problem seems to be with getting the Spearhead SDK to install. When I had first instaled SH it was to C drive, but later after I got a faster HD, I moved it to my new D drive.

Norton systemworks WinDoctor supposedly caught all the registry entries and redirected them to D drive, but yet the SDK fails to detect my install ?? Is the installer hard coded to search for the install on C drive, or might I have a botched entry? (Game play's fine thou :( )

(Yes I did do a forum search for an answer, but got 14 pages of thread's linked to Spearhead SDK)

Has anyone else run into this problem before? What did ya' do? Is it time for a reinstall if I realy want to get into the SH SDK? And if I were runing a no-cd, should I move the original .exe back to it's proper location before attempting the instal?

Much thank's in advance (And Mod's, if that last line there is "inappropriate" for this forum, feel free to wipe it :D )

First let me say sorry i will not be able to answer that question for you. I have a similar problem, i can play SH but when i try to install the SH SDK it says it cant find the Spearhead.exe or something like that. I tried to reinstall and but i couldnt. I am currently trying to find my mohaa discs to reinstall that to so that i can reinstall SH and hopefully that should work. Maybe you might wanna try the same. It isnt uncommon for people to have two versions of the game one they modify and play off of, and a second you can use that is completely clean or stock to map of off.

Second i just wanted to say welcome to .map. hope you find the answers you are lookin for.

Thanks Random

You need to change your prodject settings on the file menu in mohradiant so that it points to your game directory and make sure the mod directory is set to mainta

Well thanks for the reply BD, but MOHRadient works just fine so far, my problems with the Spearhead SDK not wanting to instal for lord knows what reason.

I guess overal it's a good thing being new to MOH modding, it'l give me more time to get on top of the basic's, and hopefully by the time I've got map making, scripting and compiling figured out, I'll be ready for the next headache :D

FritzDaKat, do you by any chance have a folder C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information or D:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information? Make sure you have selected 'show hidden files and folders' in any explorer window -> tools -> folder options -> view tab.

Yes I do. Something tells me this is the key to my troubles. If it were a file made on install, it would refrence the original install on C drive. Too bad it's not there anymore  DOH!

Yup. I cannot find any 'hard evidence' but I think that may well be the problem. As on how to fix it, I guess there are little options left but a reinstall :?
