The Opera House
Tactical Objective from Flyingsheep

I believe this map is a new kind of objective.
It combines classic obj (blowing up stuff) with elements
of tactics:

- Controlling certain buildings and MG42's can give a serious advantage to your team
- Destroying some parts of the map will block the way of the opponents and will force them
to choose longer and more difficult way.
- Central position of German spawning points allows them to strike at any part of the map
(which makes the game less predictable).

I've created about 100 custom textures for this map (mappers, feel free to use them).
I hope MOHAA is not completely dead yet.

You can download it from:

(And Draska: GREAT textures!)

This map is EXELENT!!!! And the pictures I edited into the top post is shot with maximum GFX settings... see the FPS... its at 49 at the WORST place. So using more realistic GFX settings ( yes, we all hunt for FPS to get that extra edge  ) you should be able to squeeze in quite a few players with guns blazing before FPS drops to sub-optimal levels.

Love this map!

( and Flying sheep... please objectify "The Canal" and VIS out its FPS drops... stop blaming your lazy brother  )

If there were a poll I'd vote '9/10 - Awesome'... not because you don't deserve a 10 but because a 10 could stop you improving your work ;)

From what I can see from the screenies this map is looking very very good and is probably the best mohaa map out there at this time. I'll be actually playing it when the long anticipated weekend commences :)

Then, I'll be back with more feedback... until then, big thumbs up and thanks for your christmas present (once again I think)

Hey Draska,

I got your email you sent to PMOH but it wont let me reply to you. I am thinking about doing a review this week for PMOH, this map looks really good, I'm gonna get someone to test it out with.

Draska:

This is the best example of custom mapping that I have ever seen. Very inspiring for those of us who are trying to improve our skills and create better and better maps for the MOHAA community. (A community that I think will live on for a long time!) Thanks for this amazing map.

Fabulous map. Absolutly fabuuu. Great detail, i especially like how the map doesnt feel like an arena, i definetaly get the feeling that i am in the heart of a much larger picture as i explore through the streets and canals of this town.

Custom textures are well done indeed, it is what i believe is the key to something new and refreshing. This map shows your skill as top notch level designer.

Great work Bud.

(ps: as long as there are map makers out there who are willing to put this kind of effort into a project MOHAA wont die)

Flying Sheep was originally a team : me (Draska) and my brother (Byrd).
Byrd lost his intrest in modding for some time, but there's a little bit of his work in Opera House. So by now I'm one person team (schizophrenia).
