It seems that the program you're using to open pk3 files loves to spread .tmp files around

What do you use to open pk3 files?
a) Pakscape
b) Other soft.
If your answer is b, so you're in the wrong path...

when u change their extension to .pk3, u can see their content: they are copies of custom pk3s. I always thought them to be made by mohaa rather than PakScape but anyways, like Jv said, u can delete them.
BiG_Head, could u try to resize your screenshots to something smaller? i'm running on 1280x1024 and ur posts still don't fit. thx

when you open and edit a file from the .pk3 and then save it, it'll create the new .tmp file, you'll need to save the file as the .scr/.urc o whatever it is your editing then save it back into the .pk3,
all the changes you have made will now be deleted and the .pk3 files will remain unchanged
btw hi Wacko
