Another question form me about mapping...

Post by wilhelm14 »

Hello everyone, thanks for the advice on how to make a box, thanks to them I finnaly made my map, jejej and a big mess.

So now I have another question, I began experimenting again with some more textures and I wanted to make boxes, you know the ones who say "Afrika Corps", "Wermacht" etc... well I made them but they allways tend to be a lot bigger! than the player, jeje what am I doing wrong?

Thanks!

96 units

Post by tltrude »

In the 2d window, each grid square is 8 units by 8 units (with the default, key 4). Players are 96 units high, so try not to make your box bigger than 64 units high (so players can jump over them).

To make the texture fit, hit keys Ctrl F. All the keys are under "Help".

ctrl+f is a cool key. also 64 is the highest a player can jump, so if u make barrels or boxes to be stood on, keep that number in mind.64 is also the height of a crouched player i believe, shud check on that though.
