I CANT FIGURE OUT HOW TO COMPILE MY MAP
AND I DONT KNOW HOW TO PUT IN THE CONSLE TO BRING MY MAP UP
AND HOW DO I PUT IT IN MY MAP LIST?

MY MAP STILL IS NOT LOADING I DID ALL THE THINGS THE BASIC COMPLIER SAID TO DO BUT ITS STILL HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO THE MAP TO LOAD IS THERE SOMTHING I CAN TYPE IN THE CONSLE TO BRING THE MAP UP

Yes, please stop shouting...

Loading the map should take about 10-20 seconds.
Compiling a map may take 24 hours if its complex.
You can load a map by writing:

Code: Select all

map mymapname
Example:

Code: Select all

map obj/my_first_test_map

k when i type that in the consle in says cant find map maps my map name
and nothing happends

yep i compiled my map and when i type the thing in the consle it says cant find map if 1 of you has a mic mabye you can talk me therw it

when i look at my map in the main maps folder under in says
mymapnam.bak is it suposed to be a bsp should it say mymapname.bsp

No, .bak is simply a back-up of your .map. There should be a .bsp though, otherwise the compile failed :(

Your map name has to to be one word. Like this:

my_map.bsp


Place that file in MOHAA/main/maps/dm (create a dm folder if you don't have one) and it should show up on the list of "team match" games.

now i got it in the map list but when i click on it nothing happends

in the mbiulder were you pick your map you want to build should it say
mymapname.map ?


and when i save my map in mohradiant do i have to save it as
mymapname.bsp

Yes, you save your map as my_mapname.map or whatever name you want (all_one_word). When you compile it, it will be saved as my_mapname.bsp. And, that is what you put in the maps/dm folder.

Singleplayer bsp files would just go in the "maps" folder, but they should be named "test_mymapname.bsp"--so the sounds will work.

The reason your map does not work is probably because you didn't compile it, or you are missing an info_player_start and a light. It is also good to put in an info_player_allied, and an info_player_axis. Everything has to be inside a room or a skybox.
