vis groups

howdy yall, heh. im lookin for a tutorial on vis groups, and what they are since i hear about em a lot and they sound useful. anyone know where this stuff can be found? thanks.

Manual VIS

Manaul VIS works well with larger maps.
Basically you make some big brushes and make them VIS.
Give them targetnames and target each of them to any other VIS brush
that you don't want to render when inside the parent.
Be sure to set VIS_DERIVED in worldspawn to only use manual VIS.
On my full size map, it hadn't finished compiling after 360 hours.
I added Manual VIS and it compiled in 180 seconds.

Read the link Wacko posted, its a great VIS explanation.
Then you can check out this tut on how to control vis with vis_leafgroup brushes.
