RAM/Compiling speed?

How much does ram have to do with compiling speed?

Not a lot I think, though big (bad

) maps may not compile if you haven't got enough RAM.

lol i have 512MB ram, but when i compile, it uses 100% virtual memory lol. so i cant play anything while compiling...lags...
time to change comp...

When I had the multi-day compiles for "Vemork factory" I could play just fine if I just went into the "Task Manager" and set the "MOHLight" process (if its doing light compile) to "Low" priority. That way it won't totally suck the juice out of your computer (and the compile will be just a bit slower... but not THAT much slower).

well, I got a 2.6Ghz p4 2G ram, maps compiles the same time as
a 2.6Ghz 512Ram Centrino

2g ram!!!!!!!! wowsers. i dont know why but maps no matter what comp im on always take the same time. i think it haas more to do with ur OS since compiling is all in dos.
