.Map :: MoHAA Mapping

hello, i'm new,very new at this mapping stuff. i love the moh games so i 'm going to try my hand at mapping!!! and i'm not off to a good start..
problem: i downloaded moh radiant and unziped the files to my folder, then went in and clicked on "radiant.exe" to start the install process,because i didn't see a "setup" file.
After clicking on the EXE file.. a "preferences dialog box" comes up saying to "make sure my preferences are correct or the program wouldn't run correctly" so i click ok and it brings up the whole preferences window to change this or that..so of crouse i don't know what to change or not to change,so with out changing anything i just click..ok! so now i get an error msg saying "cannot open 'radiant_ai_cfg\aipreset.cfg getlasterror=3-1282 an unrecoverable error has occured. i sure could use some help thank you Willie

Umm I'm just gonna take a stab at this. I'm fairly new myself, but did you put the entdefs.pk3 in your main. If not this might be the problem. Also when that window pops up with the Project settings make the first three lines look like this

basepath C:\PROGRAM FILES\EA GAMES\MOHAA\
mapspath C:\PROGRAM FILES\EA GAMES\MOHAA\MAPS\DM
autosave C:\PROGRAM FILES\EA GAMES\MOHAA\MAPS\DM

Also the c:\program files\ea games\mohaa\ and the maps\dm one dont have to be capitalised it will work either way, but dont change anything else

i didn't do any of the things you mentioned on your post...do i set them up before i setup the radiant program?? thanks willie

Umm I'm not sure you can set them up before. Just make sure those things say that when the box comes up.

ok..the things you speak of i have not seen yet!! do you know of a good tuts that would show or tell what to do from download of the program to unzipping it , to installing it in the right places on your computer?? it's probably not that hard? but i'm just not getting it! thank you willie

hay there bighoss..well i'm on my way now thanks to you! it seems the file i was dloading did not contain the right files so i didn't understand what you were tell me?? i went to that site "Nemesis's Tutorial Page" and dloaded and read everything i needed (for now anyway)...thank you so much for all your time...
