under ground need some advice

I have constructed two houses but would like to add steps leading down to a cellar if I added a terrain is they anything that I should be aware of to make.

The reason why I ask is that I am unsure if the terrain would work on top of the surface.

Also can I link two different terrains together for example a road and grass.

Thanks

best way would have been to do the terrain BEFORE constructing the buildings. You might have to do some changes to them, now...

dunno what u mean :( do u know about how to delete single facets of the terrain?

u can texture each patch of 512x512 units the way u want. 512x512 is big, sometimes too big... So, take a look at this thread. there's something about a pretty way to texture LOD. another way would be to put a patchmesh (for the road) on top of the LOD.

I'm no expert, but if the terrain is already there, you need to make a 'hole' in it to make the basement. That means you have to edit the 'facet flags'.

What I do is find out where the basement ('foundation') of the bldg. should go, and make a box about that size that passes thru the LOD terrain. Line it up with the grid. Then go to "LOD Terrain >edit facet flags". Leave the pop-up menu open, and select the terrain triangles that are 'in' the basement opening. then check the box "delete", and click finish. The triangles are still there in Mohrad, but in-game they disappear...make sense? Play with that function on an experimental piece of terrain to get the hang...lots of tuts for it on here...good luck!

OH, and the box you put in first shows you in Mohrad where to put the basement, since the missing triangles aren't apparent in the editor!!! If you forget this, you might be bummin'! LOL
