I seem to remember getting that error once in a tutorial map when I made a very "smooth" sphere... It seems there is a limit to the amount of faces you are allowed to have on a single brush. You got any complex brushes you can think of?

I was going to suggest that you make some of your brushes detailed, especially masked surfaces like grates.

Then that becomes your problem. When the map .bsp is de-compiled, every brush becomes a set of 6 brushes, one representing each face of the original brush. So there are 6X as many brush faces in the map when compared with the original.

If it is not an original game map, you can ask the creator for his .map file. Other than that, there is no quick way to fix a decompiled map.
