how do i make my soldier kill?

I have created my soldier and gun and he is linked to the gun(the arrows go from him to the gun)but when i load it in he just stands there until i shoot him whats am i doing wrong.

I would have to guess that you are referring to a mounted mg42. If that is the case,
take a look at THIS tutorial.

It might help you out.
