Calling sounds from pak3

Okay, I found a sound I want to use in pak3 for when the allies pick up a set of documents (it's a swooshing, paper sound). It's located in the items folder under the name Item_PaperPU_02.wav.

I've tried using the command $documents playsound Item_PaperPU_02 and $documents playsound items/Item_PaperPU_02, neither have worked. How do you make the statement to call that sound?

The name the game uses for that sound is "pickup_papers2". But, as you can see below, it only works in singleplayer. The line below is from the ubersound script in pak0.pk3.

aliascache pickup_papers2 sound/items/Item_PaperPU_02.wav soundparms 1.5 0.0 1.0 0.0 100 2000 item loaded maps "m1 m2 m4l0 m4l3 m6l1c"

To get it working in your map, you will need an ubersound work-around. Place the following lines in your script--just above "level waitTill prespawn".

local.master = spawn ScriptMaster
local.master aliascache doc_pickup_snd sound/items/Item_PaperPU_02.wav soundparms 1.0 0.0 1.0 0.0 100 2000 item loaded maps "m dm moh obj "

Now you can use the sound with its new name like this.

$documents playsound doc_pickup_snd

Note: If you hide the document, it wont play the sound. So, you should make a speaker for it.
