there is a way, and it has been done. download wackos ufo map, and check out his custom reflective texture. i believe its done by photo editing the texture to make it almost transparent.

the ufo-map is in the mohaa recycling bin (link below) but the textures aren't mirrors, they just look kind of reflecting (like windows do).
Real mirrors are as far as I know impossible with this engine...

Yup that's what I think too... making mirrors for Quake3 never was a problem but all my attempts to make 1 for mohaa have failed miserably

have u ever succeeded in making a portal_surface do ANYTHING? I made a sky_portal surface with script_skyorigin showing the room where it was. the view though was rotated by 90? and I couldn't chnge this. also, the player was NOT shown in the mirror (so, it was only suitable for a vampire mod

)

I have never seen a working mirror in mohaa either. But if you want to see yourself in a game you can turn on "third person".
setcvar cg_3rd_person 1
and
setcvar cg_3rd_person 0
Normally, the player is not drawn--except for his hand, gun, and shadow.

lol: i know, but this is not really what a mirror does... and it was rather a question of mapping than of vanity

Good comment Big Head

I remember making maps for shadow warrior also and created several mirrors. Can you create a camera in moh? If that is possible maybe it could be used. But then you have to project the image onto a brush. doesnt sound possible but then again I am a noob still.

strange thing is that there IS entitites portal_camera and portal_surface which would be exactly what would be used for (atleast) a camera.
but then, this might be just a rudiment of gtkRadiant for Quake]|[

i once had a movie playing in 'shopp'. but this was something different. the portal_camera should 'take pictures of the actual scene in the map' with players running around and stuff...
