.Map :: MoHAA Mapping

Arg, this Reverend is annoying . Seeing as how i map, everytime i use this damned program i have to clear my main folder, then when im done, move everything back, then out again because i gotta use reverend again, and again and again and AGAIN!

oofta, and this reverend isn't even cheat proof! I guess it does weed out a lot of the cheaters, but it still leaves the ones that can do amazing stuff with there 'skills' of hacking.

Bah, what are your guyses inputs on this?

I hate anti-cheat software (not that I'm cheating) especially those that automatically make screenshots of you playing. Hence I just made my screenshots folder read-only

haaha, not a bad idea! Its bad enough with my crappy 16mb vid card, but when ss are randomly taken i bog down to like 2 fps for a few seconds... ERRR !!!!

anti cheats are the gayest thing in the world. It was a stupid, laggy, pointless invention. Noob hackers either arent a problem, or u can tell easy, and good hackers dont get caught by anticheat stuff. the whole thing is dumb.

I'm a little late on this post but. There is programs(dont know where it is try google) that you put it like in a folder you want and it takes out all your non stock files in MOHAA and mohaa/main and then when your done you it puts them back in.And if im not mistakin Reverand is supposed to do that itself.It should take them out then when your done it puts them back in and if it doesnt put them back in go to like options and it sais replace all files or something like that.But yes I hate all the anticheats.the only one that was close to being good was match watch which still wasent the greatest. Pandora was good excpet it lagged bad. Reverand,a lot of people are having problems with it because of there video drivers.

The 'removing of the pk3 files auto' would be handy for mappers who also participate in clan matches, but using it for an anti-cheat is pointless. There are Countless ways to get around it still... There will NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER be a 100% efficient anti-cheat. EVER.

um yea there is, mercenary, u cant cheat using that think, but u cant use andyhting besides stock stuff. even custom binded controls get reverted.

I personally hate Anti Cheat mainly cos its screwed me over my clan and the league we play in use DMW and its latest build doesnt support my opengl drivers so I no longer play matches

DMW is a buggy piece of crap anyway it seems to get hacked as fast as It's released and now I here that there gonna charge clans to use it in an upcoming build

well,a semi related topic.is there a prog that moves all custom pk3s 2 a certain folder when i start mapping on mohradient then move them back when im finished so i can play properly!!??cause i use only one version 4 mapping and dont have any space on the HDD 2 make another folder wiht mohaa .

I think most of them just rename the pk3:s... so you won't have to worry about disc space.

There is no such thing as a good hacker.

What do they spend everyday trying not to successfully use there add ons to kill people? You watch anyone with a wall hack and sooner or later you know they have it. IF your cheats can be concealed then they arent worth having. That or you are really pathetic at the game.

Thats not really what I wanted to say though. ANy of you guys who post have your own servers? Or in charge of maintaining servers and keeping the people who play on it happy?

Until you have that perspective you dont really get a vote as to the best way to run servers =)

That said... there are no true antihack programs. But the threat of one, can keep some people from cheating who are on the fence about it. All the antihack programs in the world though cant keep people from cheating, partly because EA doesnt care if people cheat. Game designers have never much cared about details like this.

But seriously, objectign to something like CI which is a completely passive program is a bit juvenile. Unless it is taking screenshots every 10 seconds it cant really be a bother. Someone is payign for that server. IF they want screenshots of players every so often, whats the big deal? You dont like it go somewhere else... or of course you can try to beat the CI, which might lead some of them to run missionary instead. And no one wants that ^^ Interfering with lesser anticheat programs only causes the people who want something on thier server to go to the REALLY annoying ones.

jk, but seriously, these are servers other people get real jobs to pay for. I think its rude to go out of your way to defeat something as passive as CI. Perhaps CI should ban/kick anyone that it does not successfully get a screenshot from.

As a frequent player and part time server admin, I can safely say that there is only one way to get rid of xiitors: Be on the server a lot.

You don't need a lot of experience to spot a xeetor. And at most good servers you will know what players are good and what arent. If they are new and very good, you can mostly determine from their playing style if they are for real or not.

Basically: Xitors never get good because they don't deal with their defects. They keep bad strategies, keep bad aim and bad moves. It took me about 2 month of active traning to stop shooting people in the pelvis and raise my sights towards the head... but now I've got it.

And please guys: Dont call players cheaters just because they kill you. That is SOOOO annoying

But sometimes I must admit that I enter a server for the first time and enjoy beeing accused of cheating. Its actually very flattering when you think about it...

And Splaetos... you are confusing a hacker with a cheator... a hacker actually knows stuff and can do stuff none thought could be done. These CAN be good guys... but they can also be crackers... thats what I'd call a guy that makes a cheat. Cheators just find these progs and use them. So they need no intelligence at all. And they wont get a lot smarter either because they are afraid of challenges and of actually developing their skills.

I only used the word everyone else did. None of these people who are usign cheats in mohaa are 'hackers' of any sort.

It is very true that the only way to regulate cheaters is to have admins on alot. I wont say what our server runs as far as cheat protection because there is a console message directed at telling people and I wouldnt wish to publicly contradict it ^^

Cheaters are very annoying, and some server's playerbases are made more comfortable by anticehats, so they do ahve valid reasons for existing, although very few people would bother attempting to argue that they are cheat proof.

Hacker is a stupid title, and it applies to very few people. Even in cases regarding a game like mohaa it barely applies at all because there is no risk to what they are doing. Its not like they are cracking bank codes here.

u can just put all ur mods into one pk3 so for mathcs its eay to move.
i will admit when i was first starting to play i did hack.
whne ppl started calling me a hacker i stoped, and surprisingly i wasnt much worse, same kills, just more deaths.
howabout a bot that monitors each person individually for a while. just for a minute a time. if a person is caught aiming at a person through a wall to much they get kicked. its a cool dream, but probably not possible.
