Little question. When I hit the BSP and all the other commands this is what comes upCode: Select all
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\MOHAA\main\maps\dm>C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\qe3bsp.bat > C:\WIN
DOWS\TEMP\junk.txt
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\MOHAA\main\maps\dm> q3map -vis -v -gamedir ../mohaa/ C
:\Program Files\EA GAMES\MOHAA\main\maps\dm\village.map
Bad command or file name
and i really have no idea its never happened before. And whne I compile it,its sais something like C:/Program Files/EA GAMES/MOHAA/main/maps/obj/village.BSP not found[/color]What idsactly would that mean?

Littler question, why are you clicking on the BSP file? Or are you talking about compiling? Cuz you compile .map files not bsp files.
Lil help here am i missing something?

Yeap use Mbuilder, its simple enough and can be found here at .map in the essential files section on the main page.

There is a nice "frontend" program called Mbuilder. After it is set up with the right paths, you can compile your maps with one click!
Here is a URL where you can download it, and there is a tutorial on how to set it up as well.

mbuilder is really getting on my nerves, everytime i want 2 compile a map i 1st have 2 find the folder than choose it (thats not so bad) but when i choose the map mbuilder adds \dm b4 the name
e.g.:location of .map file is c:\mohaa ,so when i choose the map i get c:\mohaa\dm as the location and everytime i have 2 delete that extra \dm,i tried searching thru the options but the program is so primitive ,is there any other way 2 remove it permenantly
i hope u understood what im trying 2 say cause i didnt

paths

I don't see what you mean. It should look for maps in the folder path you set and then list all the map files it finds there. Perhaps it is the path you have set in the editor for saving that is wrong. Here is my map source directory.
C:\PROGRA~1\EAGAME~1\MOHAA\MAIN\MAPS\TLTRUDE
As you can see, I keep my map files in a folder named "tltrude" in main/maps. Mbuilder puts the compiled bsp file there, but I also have a copy of the bsp going to the main/maps folder (I have a shortcut to that folder on my desktop). I then move the copy to the dm or obj folder myself.

well i have the map source directory set 2 c:\mohaa
and in the options i chose 2 copy the finished bsp 2 the maps folder 4 faster testing so this is the last line i get after the compile commands
Copy "C:\MOHAA\dm\test2.bsp" E:\GAMESD~1\MEDALO~1\main\maps"
the red dm is the one i want 2 remove permenantly instead of deleting it everytime i choose the map
ofcourse the game path is E:\GAMESD~1\MEDALO~1\

M&M, if you want that \dm to NOT be there, when you compile using MBuilder, DO NOT choose Free For All/Team DM/Roundbased as the gametype. Leave it at the default Single Player setting, then it will copy to your maps folder, not your maps\dm folder.

It seems the copy is going to the correct folder--it would if it could fine the file to copy anyway. But, it is reading the wrong source path for where the compiled bsp ended up. Just to be clear, your map file is not named "dm/test2.bsp", and you have no dm folder in "C:\MOHAA", right?
Here is my batch file (current settings).
"C:\PROGRA~1\MOHAAT~1\Q3map.exe" -v -gamedir C:\PROGRA~1\EAGAME~1\MOHAA C:\PROGRA~1\EAGAME~1\MOHAA\MAIN\MAPS\TLTRUDE\test.map
"C:\PROGRA~1\MOHAAT~1\Q3map.exe" -vis -fast -gamedir C:\PROGRA~1\EAGAME~1\MOHAA C:\PROGRA~1\EAGAME~1\MOHAA\MAIN\MAPS\TLTRUDE\test.map
"C:\PROGRA~1\MOHAAT~1\MOHlight.exe" -gamedir C:\PROGRA~1\EAGAME~1\MOHAA C:\PROGRA~1\EAGAME~1\MOHAA\MAIN\MAPS\TLTRUDE\test.map
Copy "C:\PROGRA~1\EAGAME~1\MOHAA\MAIN\MAPS\TLTRUDE\test.bsp" C:\PROGRA~1\EAGAME~1\MOHAA\main\maps
Maybe it just doesn't like your name for the map source directory. Try renaming the folder to this:
C:\MOHAA_MAPS\
You'll have to change the name in the editor too.

Now when I use this wounderful MBuilder!!!(kinda) it sais the same thing.C:/Program Files/EA GAMES/MOHAA/main/maps/obj/village.BSP not found. What happens it startes to compile it cant find my .bsp that its supposed to make before in the beggining of the compile and then doesnt compile my light or anything and just goes to mohaa menu screen and my map isnt there because it ended up not making a .bsp for my map.Still dont know whats up ive tryed everything that I could too:P

Make sure you have one info_player_start in your map. The compiler should tell you why it did not make the bsp file.
Try this setting for bsp Options.
-v > c:\WINDOWS\desktop\log_bsp.txt
That makes a log file, but your desktop path may be different--it can go to any folder you like.

yep, same problem here: when FFA/TDM/RB is selected, then in the batch file the '/dm' is inserted into the SOURCE directory while the target directory name stays unchanged.
I always wondered what the intention of this was, because in my eyes it just makes no sense at all, but instead only can cause trouble...
