Changing functions?

hmmm... I had a momentary lapse of reason and gave all my doors regular door functions rather then rotating door functions. Is there any way to change the function on a brush?

You can open your .map file in notepad and change the entities' classname from
"func_door" to "func_rotatingdoor"
You can easily do this to all your doors with the Find/Replace option in notepad.

Actually...it is A LOT easier if you just highlight the entity you want to de-entitize....lol...and go to Selection -> Ungroup Entity OR you can just highlight the entity and right click it and select Ungroup Entity from there.....MUCH easier than going through the script!!!

Your .map file will open with Wordpad because Notpad can't open big files. That is just as well because Notepad doesn't have a replace feature and Wordpad does.
Another option would be to highlight all the doors and then hit key N. Then, when you type in "function_rotatingdoor" for the classname value, they will all be changed. You can also do that to give all the doors the same properties of the last door highlighted--just hit enter for each key/value.

Notepad certainly does have a replace function.

Depends on what version you have, older versions only have a 'find' and 'find next' function.

Yes, I have to agree, out of the 32 or so computers were I work, only about half have the replace function. However I have never really needed to worry about it, cause I just use wordpad.
