Ok I have to problems and i don't know whats causing them any body got any ideas on this?
In this 1 the car is in the correct position in radiant - on the rails above it, i've removed this and put it back in twicw now but its still embedded in the floor?????? This is really important as under it will be a sewer entrance (a hole in the mechanincs pit)
And this 1 in places the sky seems to switch to daytime

is this possibly because originally it was textured that way and would remaking the brushes put it right?
Cheers

Shifty,
The sky problem seems like a duplicate brush, its not the hole side of the skybox isnt it? Maybe if you remake that side of the skybox the problem is solved. If the skybox is made out of multiple brushes per side, try making it from one large brush.

What classname is the car?
Messure the distance from the rails to the floor and move the model up above the rails that amount in radient.

Ok now I know you have been here awhile shify but sometimes even us vets over look simple things.
1.) did you try to rotate the car in any fashion other that the degree settings in the entity window? If you try to just move the car up or down to match the lift the car is supposed to be on that annoying lil box area might end up in a place you dont want it to be and you wont be able to walk past it. Other than that i can think of no good reason why it appears to be in a different place than where you put it in radiant.
2.) try select all from texture for the sky box and see if you can get rid of it that way. Also check the textures and shaders. Did you alter them in any way?
They are long shots but it could explain the wierdness.

As far the car i didnt rotate it at all ive had probs with that before lol, I just moved it on the grid.
As for the skys i removed the brush that went screwy and redidit but still no joy so im gonna remove the sky alltogether and redo
Cheers for the suggestions mate its appreciated

Yeah, one of the 6 sky images in the env folder is probably different. Or, you have someone elses screw up in a custom pk3.
Is the car a static model, a script_model, or script-object? Guess you could try spawning the car up there. Are the rails detail or non solid?

while trying something else I saw following:

Left jeep is a static/vehicle/allied/jeep, right one is vehicle/allied/jeep
Maybe examine your map in this direction?! The engine seems to 'correct' the position of an entity vehicle so it could be used ingame and won't stuck in any brush...

I had a problem like this, on my lib map i made, called compound. I placed two tanks down, compiled, and they were fine. Then i edited a building, went back to compile! and i had flying tanks!
Couldnt solve it, had to delete the vehicles!
