Hello Jobo and welcome to .map and could you possibly elaborate on what exactly seems to be the probem? Can you not compile, can you not find your map to compile?

THere are many topics on compiler issues here. Have you tried to use the search function or possibly one of the tuts here at .map

Hope this helps.

thank you and yes i could. on the MOHpile, i think i got the directories right because when i hit the thing to run, it flashes a... that black screen thing. im not sure what its called.

And the other one is MBuilder. im sure i got every thing right with that one and the black screen thing shows up and stays and say "Press any key to escape." im not sure but i think it is the compiling list that the things has done.

now when i get any of these to work, i cant find the .bsp file. nothing really happens.

I could show you a picture but i can never get the images thing to work.

The compilers are in the same folder as the editor (MOHAATools). And that black thing is a DOS window.

Ps: Make sure your map has one Info_player_start and a light. It wouldn't hurt to add at least one of the allied, and one of the axis spawnpoints too--so you can test it in the main/maps/dm folder.

For the compiler directory in mbuilder, you just "point" to your mohradiant directory (where you put mohradiant).

Hope this is what you mean, and if so hope it helps!

One more thing I can think of, make sure you dont put in the exact same thing the tut says unless that is exactly were you installed moh and mohradiant, otherwise I dont know why it would do that. also the first time I started mbuilder I had to click refresh maps and close mbuilder then start it back up and voila there they were. :?

mbuilder is just a very stupid program ,but it does its job.usually when i select a folder that has the .map files nothin appears,so i close mbuilder then open it again and all the .map files are listed (refresh doesnt work either)

p.s .2 run ur compile from anywhere move (or copy) the q3map.exe (the compiler) 2 the c:\windows\command folder ,this way it acts like other dos commands which can be called from anywhere instead of specifying a folder

edit:ziptie2k2 was faster :D

close mbuilder and reopen it again ,that should fix it.another thing, make sure that u chose the path 2 ur .map file correctly (doublecheck it)

Here is a sure fire way to get the path.

1. Find your .map file ( the file you made with the editor) and right click on it.

2. Then look at its "properties" and highlight the path that is shown. Hit Ctrl + C to copy it to your clipboard, and close everything.

3. Now open Mbuilder and use Ctrl + V to paste the path into the Map Source Directory (hit change first).

You can do the same thing for any path you need. As an example, find "MOHAA.exe" and right click on that file to get the Game Directory path.

Exactly M & M, If you were anoying us we wouldn't be helping. It's the fun of trying to figure out problems that drives people in this forum. And helping more mappers become great mappers!
