What does it mean when I filter out caulk in radiant? Some brushes are not rendering properly in the game, and when I start filtering, radiant says that they are not world brushes but that they are caulk.
I know what caulk is. And the brushes that are apparently caulk were made the same as the world brushes?all caulk except for the faces visible. Can someone help?

filtering caulk will cause it to not come up in the editors view. in game it is still there. go to filters and de-select it to see it again.

Filters in radiant are there so you can work on stuff without "all" of the brushes getting in the way. If you have any filters on, it will say so at the very top of the editor. If you filter out caulk, all the brushes that have caulk texture will be hidden from view.
If you have some filters on, and want them off, just click on View > Filters > All.
It could be that you used "blank_lightmap" for caulk--they look the same in the editor. brushes with that texture, will not be hidden when you filter caulk. To get rid of it, open your .map file with Wordpad. Then, using the replace text feature, replace "blank_lightmap" with the word "caulk" and save.

And also the blank lightmap caulk texture will show up as a dull grey ingame, (at least mine does). Tom, is this texture used for effects? I dont understand why it's there, cuase if it didnt have the title above the texture, you wouldn't be able to tell in radiant.

don't know

I don't know what it is for, but it doesn't work as caulk.

Maybe I should decompile an original mohaa map or two and look for that texture in notepad, then if it is there, try to find it in radiant and see what 2015 used it for

I suppose the game uses this texture when you type r_lightmap 1
