Multiple Loading Screen Images....

I know that crunch did it for one of his levels.....but how would you script the .urc file or the .shader file so that the image on the loading screen changes after about 3 or 4 seconds to a different picture???
*Note* I had started a 'community' map with a bunch of other guys (ziptie, axion, bighoss, cheetohs) and we all want to have our 'favorite' screenshot part of the loading screen with our "tag" on it to show everyone who had helped with the creation of the sweet level.

Look for one that has been done like, oh i dont know.....
Watten perhaps. If you look at the shader file for the loading screen you will see i used the animap line in the shader. That would be a good place to start.
Code: Select all
Watten_loading
{
nomipmaps
nopicmip
cull none
force32bit
surfaceparm nolightmap
{
animmap 0.1 textures/mohmenu/objloading/loading_screen/WattenA.tga textures/mohmenu/objloading/loading_screen/WattenB.tga textures/mohmenu/objloading/loading_screen/WattenC.tga
}
}
Threw that in for you too so you dont have to download it. But it would be nice if you did

hhahaaha, another shameless plug for Watten, its a fantastic map and its an essential download, Random, you da man
edit: dooges, I took a look at the storage facility yesterday, its looking good, I got a bit lost in there, maybe some signs, you know like on V2 where it guides you to the bombs, they might help guide you, but maybe its a DM map, I didnt notice, if thats the case then its looking very good.
One thing though, all the lights are very bright, maybe try dropping them down a bit so you can see some shadows, I love shadows

Well Random....i did what you said but all i get is the white image...
Code: Select all
StorageFacility
{
nomipmaps
nopicmip
cull none
force32bit
surfaceparm nolightmap
{
animmap 0.1
clampMap textures/mohmenu/dmloading/SFtitle.tga
clampMap textures/mohmenu/dmloading/ziptie2k2.gif
What did i do wrong????

Code: Select all
StorageFacility
{
nomipmaps
nopicmip
cull none
force32bit
surfaceparm nolightmap
{
animmap 0.1
clampMap textures/mohmenu/dmloading/SFtitle.tga
clampMap textures/mohmenu/dmloading/ziptie2k2.gif
Well i cant say im the biggest genius in the world so i dont know 100% for sure how clampmap is used here. Also i see a gif extention here, dont think you can use that.
For mine i have several still shots that i run together using the animmap line. It starts with the first one stays for a few seconds then moves to the next one down the line. You might want to seperate the images in your gif and try the same thing.
Maybe you should try this:
Code: Select all
StorageFacility
{
nomipmaps
nopicmip
cull none
force32bit
surfaceparm nolightmap
{
animmap 0.1 textures/mohmenu/dmloading/SFtitle1.tga, textures/mohmenu/dmloading/SFtitle2.tga, textures/mohmenu/dmloading/SFtitle3.tga, textures/mohmenu/dmloading/SFtitle4.tga
}
}
Of coarse i am assuming that you are going to rename each of your pics like the first tga and just put them in a numbered sequence.
Hope this helps
Random
PS: I have no shame. I can be bought, what would you like me to plug next? Maybe Small Sumo's new Manon Sniper skin? Maybe Operation Chariot by Jack Ruby? Or one that is a sure fire cant miss Gotterdammerung by or one and only T-man [tltrude]!!!
PSS: OMG I CANT BELIEVE I ALMOST FORGOT: The soon to be released
