Hello
I would like to present you my 6th map, The Alley.
Its a DM/TDM map that will run with ALL version of MoH: Allied Assault, Spearhead and Breakthrough. And once more i would like to thank my great friend Bobzilla who helped me a great deal in the making of this map. Bob, i wouldnt have made it without you, thx alot
Map took about 4 months to make
it contains no less then 200 custom textures
and custom audio
you can get it from here:
http://www.gamersmansion.com/pafiledb/p ... file&id=56
here are a few screenshots for you people:
Hope you people will enjoy playing the map. And of course any comments, good or bad, are welcome.

Very nice map. But, I did not hear any background sound--the speakers and radio work fine.
The reason there is no background sound is because of this line in your script.
exec global/ambient.scr the_alley
It is looking for a file named "music/the_alley.mus" that is not there. You should ask General Cobera if you can use his "City Nights" background sound--that would be perfect!
I love those windows, but wish they were breakable.

I believe CypheR removed the ambient in favor of local music to be played when close to disco. The windows that don't break are rooms which have no entry, I do believe.
Last minutes items we added to map..are telephone wires across alley, and you can jump on and walk across to get to other side.
Also a hidden access to sewer. (I let you find that one)
Bobzilla
Thanks for your comments..tltrude.

Well, Its a bit anachonistic for a WWII shooter, but DAMN it looks good! It really shows that you put some hard work into this baby. Also: unless you have a crazy better computer than the regular palyer: that FPS looks tasty

Well, it is sure quiet for a big city alley. With a map that small, he could use speakers outside too.
fps on map

Yes, speakers would be nice..but I would think maybe be able to turn off. We used leaf_groups where ever we could to optimize fps..
and spend many hours compiling over and over..testing.
(Anyone have a spare CRAY we could buy cheap?)
Since we left the code in the script, a modder could add a .pk3 to localize this map for his clan or personal enjoyment..hehe with his/her own music...but I'm not a modder and don't know if it would work.
That I'm sure some one could test out.
Thanks..all.

I checked it out, only two minor criticisms
In the nightclub, I like to have the music deafeningly loud, I have in fact damaged my hearing by spending many hours, if I added them up maybe a yr, in front of huge stacks of speakers, my fave are TurboSound Blue Box, they have some amazing bass levels, you can certainly find them on google, I used to DJ in nightclubs a lot in my youth, my claim to fame was playing for the drummer out of Duran Duran, I played at his birthday party in a penthouse apartment in London
So pump up the volume in there Cypher
The above thing is not an error just a preference, I did find one error though
The railings, say if your on the top floor/balcony thing of the nightclub looking down onto the dancefloor, the railings/banisters can only be viewed from one side, they disappear on one side, maybe you caulked them instead of nodraw, minor glitch no biggie, all in all great job

Did you play in AA or SP?
For some reason, we get different "NO-DRAW" from SP back to AA.
I'll investigate and see if warrants an update.
Thx for finding that.!
Bobz
P.S. I noticed that the music is Louder in SP..and much lower in AA.
I could rent you my home theatre (1000 watt) for a while...hehehee

You stole my idea, Just Kidding.
I had an Idea of making a vice city style map, I even went into vice city took screen shots of the buildings and used those textures as my buildings, My map turned out to be HUGE and with my bad geForce2 card I got around 45 FPS at best settings.
But great work anyway,
