Shotgun Ammo

Post by diego »

I haven't seen any ammo boxes for the shotgun in Radient. Can anyone help a blind man to see?

No, the shotgun is evil. :P

Seriously, I would help you out if I knew the answer, but I don't.

Ya, i've encountered this to... you might just have to stick with the gun itself, and besides, if you put one shotgun down, it gives you all the ammo already... probably just have to stick with putting guns themselves down?

Can't do that. I only want 1 shotgun available in the level. I'm trying to set it up so that players can not spawn with shotty ammo. That way, if you want the gun, you gotta kill the guy that has it and take it from him. The only problem is that when you pick it back up, you only have 10 shells left.

Here's your ammobox for the shotgun:
http://www.decalattack.com/recyclebin/f ... mmobox.pk3
It's just a tik file in it's folder. Inside there's a line telling the amount of shells (24). Change it to whatever you want

A, place this pk3 in your main folder or it's contents into your own pk3 and you'll find the ammobox where all the others are (items/ammoboxes..)

That worked great, Wacko. I don't see a line in the entity editor that would allow me to alter the amount of shells. But 24 is ok.

ah, no, not in the entity editor. in the pk3, there's one file item_shotgun_ammobox.tik, which has that line (open it with an text-editor) :wink:

Code: Select all

TIKI
setup
{
	scale 0.52
	path models/items/ammo_boxes
	skelmodel shotgun_box.skd
	surface all shader shotgun_box

init

	{
		classname AmmoEntity
		name shotgun
		amount 24 //<----------number of shells in the box
		dmamount 24 //<----------probably number of shells for multiplayer
	}
}

animations
{
	idle shotgun_box.skc
}

Ah.. Thanks.

Now all I need to do is disable shotgun ammo on player spawns and my "Kill the Shotty" feature will be complete.
