Priority setting
If I go into windows task manager, will I notice a faster compile if I switch q3map.exe to abovenormal, or high priority setting? Of course I will have to completely abondon my computer till its finished, but will it be worth it?

I use -fast for vis. Because the only differance between -v an -fast is that the bsp file is a little smaller when you get done with -v.

Uhm -v just means 'verbose' = extra text output when compiling. The end result should (hopefully) not be any differenttltrude wrote:I use -fast for vis. Because the only differance between -v an -fast is that the bsp file is a little smaller when you get done with -v.
In my experience using -fast is pretty much the same as skipping the vis stage altogether, except that it now makes a .vis file so mohlight can compile radiosity (which you will never notice anyway).
