.Map :: MoHAA Mapping

Here's some screen shots of a map CypheR and Bobzilla are working on:

R.A.T.A.R. (Rapid Advancement Through Alien Resources)
Map consists of a moonbase and large spaceship.



















We are hoping to have tested and released in next couple days.

I see some starwars textures but what are the other ones??....Tom I think we started a trend here hehe!!!

Actually, i started this map last summer, after a hard drive crash, i lost my most recent saves of the map file... so bobzilla decided to retake it and decompile the bsp then clean up all the duplicated brushes created by the decompiler.. and we added some new stuff to the map. the thing i'd like most would be to do a conversion of the game with new models and all and make a futurist mod for the game, but i dont know how to make models and certainly cant afford license to the required modeling tools. so we did what we could to make it look futurist and that mean adding new textures and sounds.

i have a model 4 a spacecraft looking kind of aircraft (it actually looks like both) and its one of my early experiments with 3dmax ,i managed 2 make it also explode giving of a realistic explosion effect .
i was actually trying 2 follow a tut about making a spaceship in the help that came with 3dmax 4 but my design went horribly wrong ,i was supposed 2 make a plane with alot of flat surfaces but i accidently made a very smooth and streamlined space craft (jet fighter ........)
however as of now its unskinned as i failed 2 understand uvw wrapping and i also failed 2 find a suitable skin .ive since stopped playing around with 3dmax so i prolly wont know how 2 add anything 2 it ,however if u want it i can send it 2 u .

oh,nice looking map 2 btw ,has alot of textures looking like tron 2 if u have seen that game

with some "research" you could find the codes u need for the modeling software. what u may want to do is just make a couple skins for the map, player and guns skins just to make it realistic, dont need much software for that and its pretty easy.

Kind of reminds me of quake.

I see at least three missing textures! Try renaming your main/textures folder to "Xtextures" and then look at the map with only the original game pk3s, and your pk3, in main.

I also hear no background sounds. But, it does have great FPS, and looks like it will be very fun!

Yep, missed them..tltrude..thanks.
I also found some other oddities..you can jump in the smaller green slime vats near wall and not get out..also you can hug wall in teleporter rooms and not teleport..probably not a good feature to have.

I see update 1.2 coming soon!
