Stargate Test/Tutorial Map Released

Well here it is the Stargate Map I made it's only a test map for future stuff but as Wacko wants it for his recycling bin i'll put it up here.

Heres Some Info Bout Version 1.

Version 1.0

1. 2 Way gate system (You should be able to load it into a map and fit your stuff round it)

2. Rotating Inner Ring

3. Chevrons That Light up

4. Wormhole effect will be included (Though nowhere neer as good as the TV Show)

To Do for Version 1.1

1. Kawoosh (Water Explosion before Event Horizon forms) to be added at the moment i'm creating new effects using old tiki's.

2. Telefragging can happen if 2 ppl enter the gate system at the same time there is a way round it and i'll add this later.

Here's a small (? 15 MB) movie with the animation. It's in divx and quality isn't good but I think it shows the general idea.

Edit: The video has been replaced with a 7 MB Divx movie showing what happens when you travel through the Stargate (still under development but it shows the idea)

Dam thats nice the gate textures would come in handy in the mod im working on lol is that from the Elite Force Mod? I know an actual full dialing gate model was made for it????

Actually the door textures are based on this mod you are referring to I think, the map I created myself, including the animated gate (which actually is a animated model :? ).

I also created some of the textures, but most are from Photoreal texture packs, mohaa, Gatecon pics or found on the net.

SubLevel 27 and 28 are just like the SG-1's, on Level 26 I don't have any info yet, only the elevator and stairs...

Cool what layout/blueprint are you goin from or is it just lookin back at the show, cos i got a screen cap of the 1st episode in seaon 2 where the goa'uld recreate the base and the tokra get a map to earth.

You guys should all get together and form a SG Mod Team. The gate can be used to start new levels (single player campain).

As i said above I'm in one the MOD is Called Stargate SGX, we'll be creating new weapons, alien and human, plus new maps so far the idea was mp maps with bot versions aswell, it's only early days yet. but the links are as follows

Just checked that vid and dam thats a nice gate im quite jealous was the kawoosh effect part of the model?

I saw that blueprint too, but it's incorrect. In one of the episodes you can see a security monitor on which an actual blueprint of the base is shown, I used that as a basis. For the rest I'm checking every Episode to get details of the base layout and all different floors. Adapted some stuff to get a better gameplay.

The kawoosh, I assume you mean the big watersplash, (I don't actually know what the correct term is) is scripted. It's a combination of oceansprays going back and forth.

My Idea when I started this map was to create a (T)DM map with the possibility to activate/deactivate teleporting (server setting), and to add the Voodoo Dolls, Freeze and CTF -mods. In the (near) future I would like to create an objective map, extend it with bots and the liberation for AA. Maybe I'll try a single player level next to get the Stargate really into business and travel to other worlds (as in other maps).

Were you planning on creating single player maps/levels or off world maps ?

Well i've never looked into creating a Singleplayer map but I was planning on doing maps with both 1 and 2 worlds in it. For instance Cheyenne Mountain to Chulak (I'd change chulak slightly by bringing apophis's temple closer so your not running for miles to get to it) But SP Maps in the MOD Would be very cool

What do you expect when it's more than 2 years old :roll:

Google the map name, good chance you'll find a working link somewhere :)
