A league with custom maps is in the works!
I'm working together with the European server hosting company Game-Hosting ( http://www.game-hosting.com/ ) to create a MOH:AA league with custom maps. It will feature 3 custom maps, as well as the standard 3 maps, Hunt, V2 and Bridge.
We want good custom maps for clan wars, not just 3 custom maps that people know from playing public servers. Because of this, any map that supports serious strategical gameplay can be considered for this league.
We want maps! We already know of a number of good maps, but we can't claim to know them all. And above all: many GREAT maps are not given a chance because they are unknown, complex, not advertised enough or not designed for public servers. We want suggestions, we want maps, we want ideas, we want help... because we know you guys play this game because you find it fun. So we want to create a league that you will enjoy. Simple really. We need "industrial strength" maps, and to achieve this we may need completly new maps or contact with the makers of already released maps to squash out some simple bugs in them. We don't want custom maps with errors if we can avoid it.
We will set up a server to test new maps. And we will also test modifications to the original maps ( the Hunt nade-spam problem comes to mind ) . We want to create the league that we would have loved if someone else had put together for us ages ago.
Some quick info on the league so far:
- Teams will be divided into divisions. 1 - 2 - 3. Depending on how many teams that sign up. Would like about 20 teams in each division.
- Teams will play 2 matches vs each team. When this is done, season is over and we got a winner. The 2 best teams in division 2 goes up to division 1, and the 2 worst teams from division 1 goes down to division 2. same for division 2 and 3.
- Points: 3 points for winning the match. 1 point for tie. 0 point for loose.
- Maps: 3 standard maps. Maybe with bug fixes if we can fix them. Maybe also with some new spawn places on hunt and bridge. Lets try and see if any cool suggestions reach us. In addition: 3 new maps from the community. We will find some maps to try out and get an hold of the mapmakers, so that we can fix them if it has bugs. So total 6 maps.
- Maps will be pre-set each round. Game-Hosting will decide which maps to play each round. This will be announced when league set up is done.
- Will play 2 maps each match. Total 7 rounds per map side.
- Only 5vs5. Can change 1 player during side change or map change.
- There will be 1 - 2 matches per week. All pre-set. Wednesdays and Sundays for example at 20.00... then all teams play. We can have different days in the week for the different divisions.
- Teams will use their own servers.
- Hopefully we will be able to present prizes for the winners in all divisions.
- Will be using DMW if we can get them to implement the new maps.
- Maybe we will try to use match admins. But that can be very difficult to pull off.

any new word on this league with custom maps, is this still going on? I went to the game-hosting site but couldn't really find anything related to it.
I ask 'cause I have a map in the works (~70%done) and I would love to get it done in time. I will release it nontheless but it would be more fun to do it in the style of a league.

We have selected the following 3 custom maps:
- The Canal, by Flying Sheep.
- Stalingrad1943, by Drecks.
- Pipeline, by TopTiger.
All map sources have been accuired from the authors and all maps have been optimized for balanced/fun/creative/bug-free/cheat-free gameplay by "The Rjukan project". The latest versions of the maps are posted in this thread at game-hosting. New updated versions pop up every week as we find errors or come up with improvements.
