Decal Problem

I put some decals in my map like posters and sign etc. ,placed them an a thin brush with all the other 5 sides textured 'no draw'. I marked all 'fence' and 'alphashadow'. After compiling some are displayed correctly without black frame but some not.
Whats wrong?
Later i noticed that all the missdisplayed textures are named in black and read in the forum that they don't work right with :AA.
But how comes and where did i get them? I#ve got no custom stuff in /main.
And where could i find them to treat them as custom Textures eventually rebuild an alphachannel and a shader to get them working.

I think you are using the decals incorrectly. What you use are really fence textures ( from what you describe ). Decals are added in the game using an in-game decal editor. Ther should be a bost around here that has a link to an SH tutorial about this that should also be usable for AA...

Yup you can make decals in game but for some reason they only show up when you set dcl_editmode to 1
Maps like Southern France have awesome decals but I never got them to show up in a 'normal' way

Textures with names in black are no custom stuff, but textures that have no shader. They come with MOHAA too. Because they have no shader, they can't be displayed properly. To avoid using them, uncheck "Show NON-Shader textures" in ur preferences, then they're gone. If u wanted to use them, u'd have to write a new shader. Easiest way is to choose a shader of a similar texture and adjust it to the new texture.

I found errors in the decal shader and made a new one called "decals_fix.shader". All the decal textures seem to work now, but the new shader file has to be included in the final pk3. With it I apply the decals to simple patch mesh, and place the patch flush to the surface of where i want the decal applied.
That shader is in the pk3 for this map.

Thanks guys, that helped me a lot. I'll try out your shader soon
