The fact that the site contains no technical specifications what so ever scares me a bit. Until I se one or test a pair: I'll be sceptical towards how cool they are.

Me too...

There's any1 here rich enough to buy and test it?

Yeah I'd be a bit skeptical, also any eye health warnings? regular 3d glasses at the 3d movies hurt your eyes after a while. :(

That's not a problem (at least for me). I'm 39 yo and never used glasses?

How?

2 words:

LCD screen.

All my friends w/ normal monitors, even using very low brightness, are getting worst in their eyes.

The question is if these glasses really works on MOHAA...

I think the glasses contain no LCD. Its siply a matter of selectingly shutting out the image of one eye after the other... but that is just a guess based on the fact that you can see through the goggles.... as I said: the site is clear of any technical spec.

they look and sound awesome .
however the 1st thing that popped in mind was if it was a scam .
i mean ,mohaa wasnt supposed to support somehting like that .they might be cool but until me or some1 i know tested it then i wouldnt even plan on getting it .
maybe some1 could email the author and ask him about some technical stuff to inform us here .at least if his answers seem abit not right than we know its not real

jv, that'd be my guess, seems like its called selective viewing, or something. It probably filters out red and blue and everything at differnt times, maybe someone should email them and find out some technical specs...

Ive been speeking with them on your behalf the latest 2 days to get some info. ( Damn I'm a nice guy :) )

Setting up a test was not doable, but I've found some decent reviews like this one contains some technical stuff.
The technology works like this ( from what I understand ) :
When you activate the 3D mode, the software separates the images into a left and right perspective, but does not degrade the image in any way. These images are dispalyed alternately on the screen. The function of the glasses is to alternately flip the visibility of one eye at a time off in sync with the correct version of the picture beeing shown on the screen. This way the brain is fooled into thinking that it sees is the same difference in picture as it sees when looking at real things.
The system will affect your FPS negatively. Some people notice a 5-10% drop in frame rates, but with a decent PC it should be not noticeable.
I'd say this is a wicked cool gadget, but perhaps more for single player games, where FPS is not that big an issue... Slap a cool gadget on me in multiplayer that drops the FPS... well... It would better be the roxor for me to even try it.
Basically: if you got the kwan, knock yourself out, if your saving up for a better Gfx card... keep saving. I'd love to have a pair, but I'll probably not buy one.

Oh, and you need to have a CRT monitor to use it, as it takes advantage of the flickering it is buildt on... So no ED glasses for you if you have a fancy schmancy LCD monitor.

PS: the green text is direct quotes from the Edimensional support conversations I've had. Take it for truth, or don't. If the white text is incorrect it is me beeing stupid.

Cool, Bjarne :D !

You said: "When you activate the 3D mode,...". Activate? where?

And, btw, I'll never ever have a CRT monitor in my life (I don't want to use glasses). When I bought my PC, it came w/ a CRT monitor. I tought it was cool, better lightning, better color, etc...After playing for a while, my eyes were completly RED (no, I don't smoke grass hehe).

From this time on, I swear to myself: No CRT monitors anymore. My friends are losing 1 point in their prescription glasses every year, what means they'll be completly blind in 20 years from now.

So, I'll forget about these glasses!

Thanks Bjarne for your research!

Great Bjarne!!! Upon inspection of the official site I saw that they were stereoscopic glasses and that means they work in the exact way you said.

I have a LCD monitor and I concur with Krane, no more CRT's again. Personally it might be neat to try a friends pair for a bit but after a while I would think they would multiple the CRT's bad effects and it would get annoying with them on...

Where? In MOHAA? Oh, let me guess: the glasses comes w/ a software that you have to install, etc...And, in this soft, you can activate the 3D stuff, correct?
