Im having a problem with a light shining throught the bottom of my wall. First I thought it was because I had the wall as detail because it was small but it doesn't work with a structural brush niether. Here is a screen of what I mean:

You can see the light in the corner...it shines underneath the wall in other spots too...how do I fix this?

i had that all over my map.shadow caulk and sky caulk usually block light .
also try making the wall longer into the floor

instead of

I
I <-------wall
I
I
---------- <-----floor

should be

I
I <-------wall
I
I
I----------- <----floor

I've made a custom shader to solve this problem. Make a brush that covers this thing and apply my texture. It does block light but doesn't block players/bots.

Code: Select all

textures/siegecastle/lightblock

{

qer_editorimage textures/common/light.tga

qer_trans .3

surfaceparm nodraw

surfaceparm castshadow

surfaceparm nomarks

surfaceparm nolightmap

surfaceparm nonsolid

surfaceparm noimpact

}
Oh, in the first line, change "siegecastle" to your custom textures folder's name!

Put a crate in the corner, for a quick fix.
