With ai in particular is it the ai themselves and theyre thinking and actions, or is it the polygons/polycount of them. I want to know if it is worth my time to make low poly models in order to have a flood of ai.
Thanks guys
btw dont reply unless you are very sure.

I think both, though especially the scripting/coding workload they consume

I wonder if AI models use LOD (level of detail) at a distance? My guess is not, because players look at them through sniper scopes.

Now if the ai has his ai turned off and is just running along would that help? Or when he dies will that load the engine because he has to do the death anim? Its a way off yet but I want to do a omaha one day.

When you set their ai to off anims don't work at all... btw tltrude when you look at a model through the sniper scope the LOD of the model increases

Well they do work if you command them to walk run crawl here and there they do what you ask, but they dont fight or react to enemy because they are turned off. Is that a significant enough change to help with overall fps?

Ah you mean set their .enableEnemy to 0

... yes that should help a bit, though I don't think it'll help a lot... best just try it

Hmmmmm maybe sven-coop and the halflife engine might be better for this kind of thing.
