Question: How does HTML works on this forum?

Hi, there... Newbie here, so I'm sorry if i'm posting this question in the wrong place... I'm confident mods will move it to where it belongs if I came to post where I shouldn't...

Thing is, how you make the HTML code work here...? Cause it doesn't seem to run directly... Are there any specifics, like the doHTML tags...? Or should I be allowed by admins or belong to any particular user group first...?

I'm asking this just because I tried (unsuccesfully) to post some screenshots of a little map I'm working on in the "Bragging" section, using HTML to include Thumbnails, so my Ego won't translate in endless scrolling bothering everyone (and also, cause I've placed those screenshots on a thumbs-only host...)
