Alrighty, I'm pretty far into my map, and I've got a bit of a door problem. Nothing serious, but when u open them they tend to like to open towards the player instead of the other way around. What am I doing wrong? I'm pretty sure it has to do with the size of the origin brush, but I just wanted to kno for sure.

nope, it is because u need to set the correct angle.
you need a func>rototating_door (door brush with origin) then select the door and press 'n'. Now, give the door a key/value angle/***, where *** depends on how your door is positioned in the top-view:
A | like door gets no angle or 0 or 180
a ----- like door gets an angle of 90 or 270 .
A / like door gets 135 and a \ gets 45. Always perpendicular to the door brush.

Like M4rine said, the angle must be set to one of the directions the player will face to open the door. Here is a screenshot.
Notice that the doors on the X axis do not need an angle set. This is because the default angle is 0 and that is one of the ways a player will face to open them.

yeah i am having problems with my doors as well, but all that i do is set it to: alwaysaway - 1 . shouldnt that make it so the door opens away from the player and not towards the player
but even when i do that, it still sometimes opens towards me.
thanks every1 cause i was wondering the same thing
Alwayaway 1

Key/Value alwayaway 1 is default, so setting it is redundant. An incorrect angle is what make it open wrong. BTW, alwaysaway 0 will make a door only open one way--in the direction of the set angle. It can be used for cabinet doors or shutters on the ground floor, just to name a few.

hmm yes i had to be told that numerous times... well at least that's one thing i wont forget lol
i find it useful to look at the notes for the door entitys in the entity window ( 'n' ). lots of different functions of doors explained
i guess that goes for all enitys, though the notes are just reference, u need good tuts like the ones here on .map
