Flaw in Algiers

Post by hogleg »

I noticed this in Algiers the other night. Is this on my end or do you see it as well on your copy? The texture is bad.

I cannot test right now coz I'm compiling, but try removing all your custom pk3 from your main folder and see if it happens again.

Looks pretty bad indeed.

Its in that small room upstairs w/balcony that over looks the long street that leads to the tunnel area. The door is right next to a spawn area and a player clipped gate and planter.

btw, I have my main folder clean.

It's so easy to make texture mistakes that it doesn't surprise me to find any in official maps. I am finally playing the breakthru expansion pack but I am stunned at how flawed some of the basic construction is in many of the levels. Of course, these are things I probably would have never noticed if I had not taken the time to learn how to map.

So true. I've noticed so many flaws on maps since I've been mapping.

Any1 else that finds mistakes in stock maps should post it here.

I'd bet that Algiers was the 7th and final map developed for AA and the big brass had the whip out.

Yes very very true...on my map renverse there are certainly some errors...nice to know the "proffesionals" are capable of making them.

There is a flaw in Stalingrad...When you are going to cross the board from the window of the building to the other destroyted building you will notice that the board (frame of the window) is leaning agaisnt the side of the window...but it actually is not...there is a small gap between the board and the window...Ill post a screen sometime soon...

Yeah I occasionally get killed while looking at the architecture and details on maps...I never did that before I started mapping.

Well, it's not a visual flaw but... just about every pile of rubble or crater in Destroyed villiage has crappy collision that you get stuck on.
