Help With Compileing

Hello,

I could really use some help on compiling.

First off, I'm a MOHAAB ONLY PLAYER NOT SPEARHEAD OR AA.




First thing I do is make the map it self, then do ALL the bsp options, then save it. (I saved it to E:/EAGAMES/MOHAA/maps) and then I take out the Mbuilder and set the Gamedir so the right zone (I know that works because it launches AA after compiling it) and then the complied to E:\EAGAME~1\MOHAA\main\ (where I saved the map) and then the MapSorceDir
i put it the same place, E:\EAGAME~1\MOHAA\main\.

and then I see the map on the bottom screen and click it and dos window comes up and i press space bar 3 times and then Allied Assault Starts To Launch up and I close it and load breakthrough. And when I get in the came and type in the console:

map work (the map's name is work)

And it comes up saying it can?t find the .bsp file...???

I could really use your guys help.

First off if you are playing in BT you should disable the 'Launch AA after compile' option in 'Other Options'. Next you should copy the .bsp, .vis, and .prt from 'main/maps' into 'maintt/maps'

The bsp file needs to be in the BT directory to be able to load it in BT.

The .vis and .prt files are only used by the compilers and do not need to be moved. Only the map (.bsp) and the script (.scr), if there is one, are required.

Well guys, in the compiled part of my map all there is, is a:


Work.map
Work.BAK <--- Batch file?

the .map is the source file, and the .bak is a back up file (bak up :wink: ). Batch files are .bat, you should get a .bsp, a .prt, a .vis. You'll need at least the .bsp in the /maintt/maps/ folder. More than likely these will get put in the directory as the .map's so if you save your map in /maintt/maps/ the .bsp should go into that folder.

How do you create a bsp file??

to create a bsp you have to compile your map ( .map) with a compiler called mbuilder

then follow what was said above ......

So here is what I do, I build the map and then save it. NOTHING ELS.

then open Mbuilder and I see the map. I click it then hit build.

THIS IS WHAT IT SAYS

and i go into my mohaa maintt maps folder and only see the
.map and .bak
NO BSP!!?????

If this is a shader you made (german_8thhighcountry) then open it up and go to line 52 and you either have an extra or are missing a bracket. If this isn't one you made, remove all custom pk3's and put them in a temporary folder. Like I made a folder /maintt/pk3/ and then just drag them in there during compiles.

So on the mohradient i clicked on bsp then bsp_BSP

and here what it said

the bsp processus was stoped coze of the error .....

its surely like said blues coze of a bracket "{" that missing in the shader

check your "scripts/german_8thhighcountry.shader "

or you can even post it here if you dont find the error

It may be a bad file in a mod pk3 you downloaded. All non-original pk3s should be put in a temp folder while you are mapping.
