Question about tltrude's door tut NEED RESPONSE!!

in the tutorial (
viewtopic.php?p=49607&highlight=#49607 and scroll up to get it!)
It gives these lines:
sound_open_start/lighthouse_run
sound_open_end/snd_step_paper
sound_close_start/lighthouse_run
sound_close_end/snd_step_paper
Where does the sound come from? how did he find it? When will i quit babbling? babakgajdkghlsdghsldfghs
help, im turning into a perpetual BLAH BLAH!
Ok really, i want to add a thunder sound to my door, but it doesnt work? what file did you get lighthouse_run from?
I NEED TO KNOW!

Lighthouse_run is a favorite of mine because it works in all game types, without an ubersound work-around. Here is the "alias" for it in the ubersound.scr script (found in pak0.pk3).

lighthouse_run sound/mechanics/M1_LightTurn.wav soundparms 1.2 0.0 1.0 0.0 500 5000 item loaded maps "m1l3c

Not all the sounds will work in every game type. That is why we need jv-map's work-around. You also need it to add new sounds. The tutroial for it is here at .map, but here is a sample.

how much web space does .map have? polls like this one must eat them up.

i doubt it. phpBB (.map forum) usses MySQL for storing all post, polls, anything really, bar a few config files (very few tho) which store DB info, and servers may limit too one DataBase but a limit in size is unusual... its nowt to do with the file space, they are seperate servers on same PC, which could also be called a 'server' as a whole

You're right, that type of thing goes into a MYSQL database, and I don't think it would be more than a few values in it.

But for a mapping question, a poll is useless and what do you mean by BAM BAM?

Totally pointless...
