FPS 40/50

Is a FPS of 40/50 good enough? for a map?

depends on what type. sp it's fine, mp it's ok.
i usually get high nineties for bridge, v2, and hunt.

well,that range is considered imo as average .meaning that gameplay isnt affected because of the low fps .but it isnt high enough for low end vga cards or pcs and heavy multiplayer gaming .but for sp ,it should be ok since it cant be multiplayer .but u will have to take into mind that some ppl dont have good enough pcs (yet ....)

they wont be able to play the map no matter what atomic does to increase fps !!!!

I was going to ask that same question...
i get about 80 fps in V2 and Bridge, but i can't get more than 40-50fps in the Hunt (specially the main road) no matter what i do!
I've tried everything, lower resolution, all effects off, minimum detail, r_picmip "10" (!!!) but still nothing! The fps is still around 40.
Any ideas? I have a Geforce2 MX 400 and an athlon 1600 XP.
i get about 80 fps in V2 and Bridge, but i can't get more than 40-50fps in the Hunt (specially the main road) no matter what i do!

I'm always surprised to hear people having good FPS on the Bridge. Next to Snowy park, that is the laggiest map for me. But with my PC that's about 50-60 FPS.
My own map has a solid 75-95 FPS on my computer. Most of my clan mates find it is about that good or better. But that is probably with medium quality textures. I went overboard on custom textures so at Hi-res, my MTEX values go through the roof.
It's still playable for me, but my FPS is closer to 40-60. Slower computers can't handle it. Oh, well. Better design next time.

i M the best target in the map (sometimes sure ) with my ge force 2 i rock everywhere!
tried with a friend one of my map tehn ,when i hava a fps around 20 he got 50/60........i think every mapper have to take care of fps for poor guys like me, that dont have enough money to buy a new compu .... :p
