Help me?

I am working on my first map which is almost complete. I am making "Helms Deep" from the triology "Lord of the Rings." I want to light up some rooms of my map with torches (I did not think lightbulbs would be realistic), is there a way to do this where it will light up a room with a nice orange glow? The light should be dim, but enough to tell where everything is and where you are going.

You might use a flame-effect, possibly you can find a good .tik. also, I remember there is a way to bring up a light color selector window... you could make it yellow-orange.

Just select your light and press K, choose the color of your light. Then apply these key/values to the light:
key:light
value:50

I am almost certain that theres a flaming torch for you to download at the recycle bin:

Thanks, That torch looks awesome! I tried loading it though, and during the compiling process it said something of the lines of, "can't find image for texture"and when i loaded the map in mohaa the flame just looked like a yellow graph. No, flame or light. Maybe I did something wrong?
I was messing around with the "k" button and I got my lights to change color. Then I tried chaning the color of a certain wall I have in my map using the same method. I picked my color and every brush in the map turned that color but the one i had selected. I just need to change the color of one brush. Any ideas?

You must have the textures installed wrong. The folder with the textures should be in /main/textures/<flame texture folder>

Awesome! I got the torch to work!! Thanks to Ruby and Blue!!
Does anyone know how to change the color of a single brush without changing the entire map? I posted in more detail above.

I never tried colouring brushes by hitting K.
I would suggest finding a suitable texture or make your own texture, its a simple process to make one, well it would be simple to make one say just a solid colour like red, texturising it to look like red bricks is a whole other thing.

You can change the color of the brush, but it will only look different in the editor--not the game. You can change the color of the lights you have shinning on it, or make a new texture image and shader file.

I don't know if it says it in that tut, but you'll need to copy the texture you want to modify, rename it. Then copy the bit of code out of the proper shader file, then rename the paths in it and make a new shader file.
