Someone, please tell me this is fake! .... I live on Brown Recluse territory (kind of) here in minnesota. But the chances of getting bit by one are slim to none... just thought it's pretty gross what their bite can do to you!

Man I HATE spiders.

What I dont get is why didnt that dude go get some treatment to the bite rather than take pics every day until his thumb fell off ?

I had a battle with a spider last summer, I made this page to tell the story:

Nah, Ive heard of this before.. Camel Spiders Aren't actually venomous, they CAN't run 25 mph and a bunch of other stuff making them seem so dangerous.
"Camel spider" is a common name for solpugids, large non-spider arachnids found in desert regions. Solpugids have no venom, not even an anaesthetic, and are strictly predatory on smaller creatures.

OMG I agree with Jack, I hate spiders...more than anything else in the entire world. The little spiders that are black and white that hop are cool, but only because they hope. Any other spider, no good. That Camel Spider is the size of a cat...If I came across one of those I would most definetly soil my trousers.

I read an article on these "brown recluse" spiders, and it said that the doctors cannot diagnose it as a brown recluse bite unless they have the spider that bit the person in question. This probably is why this poor fellow went this far into the gangrenous nature. It also said that most people dont even have a reaction to the bite. This is about the worst case scenario, if that makes anyone feel any better.
