Got leaks? Get huggies.... NOT!
This is an eazy fizx.for a leak. All you have to do is make a GIANT SOLID.cube covering your map and ,right-click,and goto select---->select touching. then, after all brushes are selected, pres ctrl+shift+d. Then make another GIANT CUBE around you map. Then click "hollow". Fix the overlap, and texture it with sky on inside and caulk on outside. Easy enough?

Doesn't CRTL+SHIFT+D make your selected brushes detail ?
I am quite sure it does, if so then thats a bad move when building your map.
Try to build the skybox as tight as you can.
edit: its late I may be talking complete rubbish

Well.. it would except i just wanted to let people nkow as a quick fix... unless making a hole in your skybox is a better thing for a quick compile

yeah , but like that you are just preventing the leak , but what about your areaportal , if you have a leak and you dont seal it , you area wont work !

No jack that aint rubbish lol i re read the post 3 times just to see if i had missed something in there. I agree with jack making everything in your map detail is probably a bad idea in general. For smaller more basic maps where fps isnt an issue i say go ahead but in larger areas where one wall could be the difference between 25 fps to 75 fps i think there may be another way.
Keep it up though Master-Of-Fungus-Foo-D, through these methods of trial and error are how most of us learned. You understood the concepts of leaks and created a solutioin. That means the old hamster wheel is spinning and only good things can happen once that starts.

only fools suffer fools who have poetry in their mouths and mapping in the mind. i must be a fool.
oh man i have to stop writing before i get on here....
but Random, what if the wheel is spinning but the hamster is dead?
but the skybox is a good idea for fps in smaller maps, but shouldn't be used as a cure-all for leaks.
