I need some help with a particularly troubling ladder... It worked well enough once, but when I put a room over it (instead of just climbing onto a roof) I can no longer go all the way up. I will just stick in one place, almost at the top, and not able to go up, only down. There is plenty of wall space on both sides and enough roof space to fit into the room, I dont know the problem, please help... thanks

Yeah... Bjarne's right...

I think The ladder needs 128 of free space above it...

And, you need at least 48 units behind the player. If the head room can not be changed to allow 128 above the top of the ladder brush, you can always make the blocking brush(s) a non-solid script_object.

Maybe the hole's border is blocking the player collision box...If you put the player too close, it will block.

Screeshots will help.

dr shenker - The angle must be set correctly. In your case, it looks like 270 is the correct angle.
Also, the ladder brush should extend higher than the fake ladder rails (at least 4 units).

My func_ladder brush should be a little thicker, and the rungs should be thinner than the rails for the fake ladder.
