No Worldspawn

Post by egohavoc »

Okay.. I did a big uh-oh.

Somehow opon near completion of a map.. my worldspawn got deleted, then the map got saved. Now I open the map, I get all the textures I used, but, I also get
"No worldspawn in map.
Map_New"
after all the textures load.. is there any way to savlage this or am I stuck with starting over?

Well nevermind. I think I fixed it.

I simply went to "File>Load" and loaded the entire map into a new map. Yay for me!

*edit again*

Everything thinks it's a damned ladder. How do I remove this and make it all worldspawn again?

All I need to do is make everything just a plain object again. I can redo the doors and the elevators.

Worldspawn

Yep, you can open the .map file with Wordpad and add the worldspawn lines. It should look something like this at the top of the page.

{
"sunflarename" "none"
"ambientlight" "7.5 7.5 7.5"
"suncolor" "25 25 25"
"classname" "worldspawn"
// brush 0
{

If you have auto save on I recommend turning that off and just get in the habbit of saving it mannually with every major change you make.

I save it all the time.. that was the problem. I don't use autosave. I saved, then realized I somehow changed worldspawn to func_ladder :x

The whole map thought it was a ladder and wouldn't load :oops:

It's all better now though - Thanks
