ok, I want to create the top of a silo on a farm, how do I do it?

Make a square brush then go to brush/sphere and give it about 8 sides. Then cut it in half with the clipper.
You can also make one using curve patch, but it harder.

Make a mesh cylinder.
put a cap on it.
delete the cylinder (keep the cap).
select the middle vertice and move it up.
reduce complexity until it looks crappy, then raise it a couple notches.
