stick him somewhere where he can't move and don't disturb him or send him on a walkto path that loops.

yup
but i think he also has to be weaponless.... for that sewlect him and press 'i' and change weapon to 'none'

You mean thru script?
$guy anim smoking01 // light up the cigarrette
$guy waittill animdone // waits for him to light up the cigarrette
$guy anim smoking02 // puff the cigarrette
wait 4 // wait until he puffs

nonononono, jsut set him somewhere, it doesn't matter, or have him in a walkto. even if he has a weapon. belive me now and try it later.

k sorry my mistake - if he dont have a weapon he will smoke even when he notices u, as he cant shoot. so for test purposes i would have him have no weapon, so he dont shoot, and u dont have to hide

he'll still be alarmed at you. btw both sides of the war do it so you can make an ALied soldier do that as well.
