More questions about spawns...

First off, you need at least one playerstart spawn... and often ive heard that this should be the default view when the map loads... but it never is(in game I mean, not in radiant) Anyone know the real deal on how it sets the initial view of the map?

Second... Intermission spawns... Ive seen them not linked to origins... and linked to origins(southern france) the object of these spawns is to force the player view to that view when the map changes correct? So how exactly do you accomplish that? With just an intermission spawn in the map, it just leaves the view at whatever it was when time expired...

No one knows, or cares! Test it for yourself.

Damn Tom, having a bad day?

I used 1 player start in a scenic view and put 12 Deathmatch starts on each side of my map. I have been told the same thing about the playerstart but doesn't seem to work for me either.

1 Thing I can guarantee...In OBJ games, the spectator spawns where the info_player_deathmatch is...

Put a info_player_intermission in your map, and the players will be locked at its position, facing its direction when the map ends ( before loading the new map ).

Put a info_player_deathmatch in your map, and the players will be dropped at its position, facing its direction when entering the map ( with more , you will be spawned at a randomly selected info_player_deathmatch ).

If there are no info_player_deathmatch spawns, you will be dropped at info_player_start.

thanks, and i have tried serveral things, and im getting tired of compiling when the spawns dont seem to work. I have the intermission set up above a building looking over the map... it just doesnt want to work.

I think these set viewpoints make great touches on maps personaly, hope i get the intermission one to work, the start position isnt quite as important.
