Is this the proper code to add additional spawn points to an existing map by script ?

Code: Select all

local.axis = spawn info_player_axis origin "2368 -1128 -336" angle 45
	local.axis = spawn info_player_axis origin "2376 -1136 -336" angle 45
	local.axis = spawn info_player_axis origin "2256 -1288 -336" angle 45
	local.axis = spawn info_player_axis origin "2976 -1640 -360" angle 45

local.allied = spawn info_player_axis origin "1400 -1200 -312" angle 0
	local.allied = spawn info_player_allied origin "1776 -1192 -304" angle 0
	local.allied = spawn info_player_allied origin "1784 -1200 -304" angle 0
	local.allied = spawn info_player_allied origin "1816 -1016 -304" angle 0
Would this work and if so where in the main.scr file does it go. After level waittill prespawn but before level waittill spawn?

Well as a matter of fact I did use the search button. Should get the facts before you accuse. In doing so, not only did I see your post but I saw another. The reason I asked the question is because I wanted to know exactly which way was proper. Your post has more lines of code than another post I found.

viewtopic.php?t=7582&highlight=block+spawns

So I wanted to be sure.

Doing this 'search' only had me confused as to which way to actually do it. :?

I always do a search before posting. Maybe I shouldn't so when people get all worked up about my question, then they have a valid reason for doing so.

Its all good... Am having a bad morning, and after I posted I was going to edit. But you read it before I could do so. I don't mean to jump on you or anyone. My kids are driving me nuts! Here I am trying to build and script and I can't even hear myself think with all the racket and arguing going on in the next room... I have a 13 yr old, 12 yr old, 8 yr old, and a 2 yr old. LOL.... thing is its the older ones who are getting on my nerves... so like I said earlier.. I apologize for the last post... and thanks for helping...

Peace,

I think it would work, and yes: Any place before level waittill spawn should work.

I have used this code and your answers on where to put it and had it work great for adding spawn points to Remegan.

Thanks guys!

However, I have done same technique to Flughafen without any success. Is there some complication due to Flughafen originally being an obj map? I put the same type of code (diff coord obviously) in at the top of the scr file for flughafen and tested, no good.

Oddly there is a second scr file for flughafen in the pak3 file, I tried altering and saving back to that as well without success.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Well, as the location and name of the BSP file decides what SCR file to load, maby you are not really using the script you think you are using?
