after a few searches online i found a few video tutorial ,so i tried dloading the 1st one .after almost 2 hours of dloading (20mbs) ,i try to run it but it crashes my media player ,i try it on real one player it crashes .i tried it on another and it crashed :? . i am sure th efile isnt corrupt as when i click on it the 1st frame shows up in the lower left corner of the screen (like any other movie) however its alittle tilted .Only 2 programs didnt crash ,but they showed no picture ,just sound perhaps its a codec?.

the author of this tutorial mentioned i need the xvid codec .but the problem is i already have it .i even installed it again to be sure but still nothing worked .

i tried movie maker but it crashed in the middle of loading it .
after a few minutes of searching thru programs i found an AVI to MPEG converter (oh ,the tut is .avi btw) .so i thought this is the perfect solution ,convert it and view it .
so i loaded the mive up ,clicked convert but got na error saying that the width and length must be multiples of 8 .it turns out its 790X400 .so i made it 800X400 and converted it successfully .

but to my horror ,when i run the file .the movie is tilted by an angle :?
Image
the sound playes fine and every thing is fine except this angle .

does any1 know what to do ? im clueless .plz help ,i dont want 20 mbs of dloading (on my 56kbs) to go down the drain

edit:this is not radient ,its 3dsmax

Maby if you give us the link to the original file you downloaded, we could check if we can view it?

problem is ,i thought it might be a codec problem .and i have a folder full of codecs .i tried installing each and every1 of them but no success .
the auther says i need xvid ,so i tried that .didnt work .i had a previous version of divx ,still didnt work .i thought maybe i should try the packs .i tried the SLD -pack ,nimo pack ,k-lite pack and they all didnt work
it seems like im dloading another 20 mbs worth of stuff to run it :D .
i will try that in a desperate attempt that it might work
but the problem is real player CRASHES while loading the file .giving the send error report thingy .and thats not a codec problem ,not one that i have seen so far .

Well when I play it in realone it comes up with an error but it still plays the audio. Do you get the audio or does realone just shutdown? It gave me link to DL this codec.

no ,it crashes directly ,no audio or anything .same with windows media player .thats why i dont think its a codec problem
however on quicktime it runs with audio only .
and also the ACDSEE v4.0 player thingy .u know the small window ....
sound in both these ,and usually when u set thumbnails only the 1st frame shows up .on this movie ,the 1st frame is tilted like the screenie i showed .

ROFLMAO !!! i removed all codecs ,then installed the divx one .
not much difference ,still the crashes .but i thought i should try the divx player .and voila !! there is video ,which is correct and straight
however ,there is no sound  .
i think im gonna use quicktime for sound ,and divx for video and get this done with .im satisfied with this somewhat incomplete result :D

tnx for ur help

Runs perfectly for me in Win Media player. I've got some codecs from here: http://codecs.necromancers.ru/

( try DivX and Angelpotion at least )

i think its a windows problem ,it has been showing signs of extreme age now .giving random wierd unexplained errors and so on ,i think its time for the usual re-format and re-install . too many programs have stoped working or funtion wierldly :? ,but im dloading a few things that i am half way into .so waiting to finish those and gonna clean up my system
