multiple speakers...

if door is not open, only one loops or plays the sound, otherwise more/all can loop or play the sound. Have to set the sound parms to the proper range as well, especialy for the speaker in the room.

only problem is, I dont know if you can trigger something off of a door opening, and I certainly dont know the procedure for such, if it is indeed possible.(though i wouldnt mind finding out =p)

If not you'd have to trigger it another way, and also time it to the amount of time the door is open. Maybe you could overlap another trigger_use over the door... dunno if that would interfere with the door tho =)

i had a look at tltrudes vis leafgroup tut for stopping exterior sounds being played inside, seems like the same principle but it seemed to work the opposite, also i dunno if u can turn off and on leafgroups, best idea i could come up with.

also when i got outside the range of the speaker and went back in the sound started over, which would be crap if another player is standing next to it, or would they continue hearing it, weird

You could make two sound alias that play the same sound but with different min and max ranges. The door can be targeted by a trigger_use with a setthread to change the sound. But, that would make it start over too--just like hiding the speaker with vis_leafgroup.

You might try using common/area brushes in the doors. The room would have to be sealed (no windows or holes). When the doors are closed the inside of the room will be hidden, including the speaker, from the rest of the world. But, if a player is inside with the doors closed, only the room itself would be his world.

would the area brushes keep the sound playing at the same point without it starting over if someone else comes into the room?

Probably not, unless a player was already in the room. It might help if you explane what this is for.
