TANK TUTORIAL+SCRIPT! E-Z To get! Only takes FIVE minutes!!!

Ok everybody! I have the scripts, and all you need is WIN RAR. FOLLOW THESE STEPS!

1: download these essential files.(its best to put them on desktop.

#2:Now we use WINRAR to open up pak0. Put the two files we downloaded into ''global''

#3:SCRIPTING: put this line of scripting under the precache and other gloabal files.

exec global/playervehicle.scr ( 649.00 336.0 -7.87 ) -160 1
exec global/playervehicle.scr ( -135.00 586.0 -7.87 ) -60 2
exec global/playervehiclesound.scr
(these are the scripts you hav just put in global from pak0)

the numbers you see there is the origin of the tank(top) and the jeep(bottom). Put the coordinate of where you want them there. Angles arent needed.WARNING!!! DO NOT! change the numbers OUTSIDE of the brackets!

AND THATS IT! moving a few files, downloading a bit, and a teency little bit of scripting to get, not just a driveable tank, BUT A PLAYER CONTROLLED JEEP AS WELL! WHAT A BONUS!

Now lastly id like to thank Ric-hard for posting up a file called tank_and_jeep.pk3 up on the recycling bin website. Without the script he put in a,this wouldve been imopossible!(not really, but my dream of making a driveable tank in alageirs would have to wait :) ) To edit the number of tanks and jeeps, a good scripter could go into the playervehicles.scr we put in global and KABOOM! two tanks and 8 jeeps! imagine the possibilities! (im working on it now :) )

Anyways it look nice!! But I wouldn't suggest editing the default paks, too easy to screw it up. It's best to put the files in a global folder, anything in it will overwrite the default ones. Also make your own pk3 and it will overwrite... :wink:

I know you shouldnt edit the default paks, but THIS most likely couldnt screw it up... because you can remove it again. plus there isnt a PLAYERVEHICLE.scr in global(its called vehiclethinkers.scr) and THIS tank and jeep is SCRIPTED into your map. No Mapping rquiered.

NOw heres my real question! HAs anyone tried putting this in a DM map yet?

eheheheeheh... Im a kinda-not so great-but-stil-good-mapper and i can script. Im also pretty SMART. Im so happy. The vacation give me LOTS of time and while im in school ii still map.

Yes you can use those drivables in any map, simply copy the maps script file eg mohdm2.scr and put the coords in where u want them to be, add to a maps/dm folder in a pk3 and make a global folder and copy the 2 files master of fungus has supplied above to global . They are quite buggy tho, i modified one slightly using an idea from Corporal Punishments to stop the player crashing the server when he left the server from within a tank....

add a case 3 to playervehicle.scr ...

case 3:

self fullstop

self notsolid
self.collisionent notsolid
