Building Creation

Hey all In my maps I have never really focused so much on the whole village/city type thing, i mainly do open trench warfare types... anywho I was wondering when YOU GUYS go about creating a building do you build the outside first and then put rooms inside it, or do you build the inside and then build the exterior shell around it? And Which would you guys deem the best method? Thanks...

i make a box to the right dimensions i want to have and hollow it, pull out the corners so it's not overlapping, add a door, and design from there.

I like to build the outside first then create the inside. I'm doing what JV recomended by making your inside its own walls.

In other words 2 seperate walls, one for the inside and 1 for the outside.

Usually u only have a room or 2 in a building so its seems easier to build the outside first and then do the interior work with seperate brushes.

i use the same aproach as lizard. hollow a box ,move out the sides so they dont overlap then start mapping .usually i make a basic outdoor layout before working on inner details . that is because if for some reason i need alittle extra space inside ,i can easily expand the room .but i make the outdoor area 1st ,expanding might cause problems ;)

I have more an idea... to help the members that love creat wonderfull constructions...

Sorry because i have much ideas... but now is to help much members...

Sorry because i am placing much post... with much ideas... and it was midifying the start post idea...
But i am placing this ideas to help all members...

If you love work with mohaa .map files... and is trying to make the most wonderfull constructions... please read it...

Remember... i have real constructions with professional architetural... but please... wait i finaly the map to i show to all members...

But during this time... i have a idea to the members that live in bad contryes... and have time to work with the mohaa .map files...

If you live in a medium or in a big city... go to the best architetural professional of your city... and get with them... the best projects of they have... and place it on the mohaa...

All building the my map... is with a professional architetural... remember my history...

Please all members... try to speak with the best professional architetural of your city... and to you do not need pay to the projects... speak to after you finaly the .map file... you send to they the photos... and you can win money with this... and creat the most wonderfull constructions...

It is more a my idea... and is easy to place a AutoCad file to a mohaa .map file... it need in medium of four days...

that is the simplest way to prevent light leaks inside a structure.

i dont use hollow, i build the brushes of the outside individually, then do the interior.

i use hollow, miter the brushes and subtract where i want the door.

I have been subtracting opening in my rooms, but I think im gonna go back to manualy creating openings because csg always cuts rooms horizontaly while I find its easier to fix shadow inconsistencies on walls when you cut them verticaly.

I use hollow to make rooms, usualy from a box of my target wall height. I raise the roof and and lower the floor, but miter the corners of the walls(some textures match up better that way)
